  • 2nd prize (1st prize was not awarded) at International Jazz Improvisation Competition in Katowice, 1975
  • 1st prize for a soloist and 3rd place for the band at XIII Jazz nad Odrą Festival in Wrocław,1976
  • 1st prize with Big Band Katowice at International Jazz Festival in Prague, 1978
  • 1st prize with String Connection at Hoeilaart International Jazz Competition 83 in Belgium, 1983
  • String Connection voted the best jazz group of the year 1983 and 1984 in the poll of „Jazz Forum” magazine
  • Catch awarded Album of the Year in Spain, 1994
  • winner of a Spanish BBK award for „the best jazz instrumentalist”, 2011
